Although our Russian trip is full, some space is still available in three remaining trips for 2009 - A More Perfect Union (Philadelphia, October 4-8), The Alexandria Quartet (Corfu, October 10-17), and Reading Fairy Tales (Walters Falls Ontario, October 18-21). We would love to have the pleasure of your company.

Speaking of fairy tales, test your memory in this month's CLASSICAL TRIVIA! quiz, Happily Ever After. And (re)read a short version of the Grimm Brothers' "Bluebeard."
THE POWER OF PLACE
Today in Literature and The Installment Plan both concern the power of place - how geography can alter how we see the world and how we live.
THE INSTALLMENT PLAN talks of the special draw of Key West on writers and poets and features a sampling by Elizabeth Bishop, Wallace Stevens and Mark Strand, the three poets we will be discussing in Key West in January.
TODAY IN LITERATURE features a literary tribute to Wallace Stegner whose Angle of Repose and Georgia O'Keeffe's New Mexico landscapes will be the focus of a reprise of our trip The American Southwest: The Power of Place the following September/October.
